<p>This is one of the <strong>unique features</strong> provided by Microsoft in <strong>Windows OS</strong>. As you know, I&#8217;m a full-time web app developer and content writer. I usually work with <strong>multiple tabs and applications</strong>, including <strong>browsers, code editors, and virtual environments</strong>. Most of the temporary files and working project files are stored on the <strong>desktop</strong> before deploying to the live server. Multiple windows and their previews are present on my screen while I&#8217;m working. To access the files from the desktop, I usually have to <strong>minimize the windows one by one</strong>. </p>

<p>I later found that I can click the <strong>far right of the taskbar</strong>, which should display the desktop by minimizing all the working windows. Recently, I upgraded my PC to <strong>Windows 11 from 10</strong> and found that this feature is <strong>disabled by default</strong>. In this article, I will share the quick and easy steps to enable it on your device.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key Points:</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Right click on an empty space on the taskbar.</li>

<li>Select <strong>Taskbar settings</strong> from the context menu.</li>

<li>In the Taskbar settings window, scroll down to find the <strong>Taskbar behaviors</strong> section.</li>

<li>Click on <strong>Taskbar behaviors</strong> to expand it.</li>

<li>Check the box next to <strong>Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop</strong>.</li>
</ul>
</blockquote>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Steps To Show The Desktop By Click In The Right Corner Of The Taskbar:</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Open Taskbar Settings:</strong></h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Firstly, you need to <strong>Right click</strong> on an <strong>empty space</strong> on the taskbar.</li>

<li>Select <strong>Taskbar settings</strong> from the context menu.</li>
</ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="572" height="222" src="https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/j8mJp71j5e.webp" alt="Open taskbar settings" class="wp-image-1341" title="Open taskbar settings" srcset="https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/j8mJp71j5e.webp 572w, https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/j8mJp71j5e-300x116.webp 300w" sizes="(max-width: 572px) 100vw, 572px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Open taskbar settings</figcaption></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Enable &#8216;Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop&#8217;:</h3>

<li>In the Taskbar settings window, scroll down to find the <strong>Taskbar behaviors</strong> section.</li>

<li>You need to click on <strong>Taskbar behaviors</strong> to expand it.</li>

<li>Now, <strong>Check the box</strong> next to <strong>Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop</strong>.</li>
</ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="601" src="https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ApplicationFrameHost_wjsh99F3E7-1024x601.webp" alt="Taskbar Behaviors" class="wp-image-1343" title="Taskbar Behaviors" srcset="https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ApplicationFrameHost_wjsh99F3E7-1024x601.webp 1024w, https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ApplicationFrameHost_wjsh99F3E7-300x176.webp 300w, https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ApplicationFrameHost_wjsh99F3E7-768x451.webp 768w, https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ApplicationFrameHost_wjsh99F3E7.webp 1345w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Taskbar Behaviors</figcaption></figure>

<p>Once you have completed the above steps, move your mouse to the right corner of the taskbar. You will see a small vertical highlighter line appear. When you click on the right corner, all the working and non-working tabs will be minimized to show your desktop screen instantly.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="463" height="240" src="https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/bIXbZX3zgZ.webp" alt="Show Desktop" class="wp-image-1342" title="Show Desktop" srcset="https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/bIXbZX3zgZ.webp 463w, https://winsides.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/bIXbZX3zgZ-300x156.webp 300w" sizes="(max-width: 463px) 100vw, 463px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Show Desktop</figcaption></figure>

<p>In this way, you can select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop on your Windows 11 PC. This is one of the quickest ways, and you can also use <a href="https://winsides.com/windows-11-keyboard-shortcuts-list/" data-type="post" data-id="1323">shortcuts</a> to minimize all working tabs and show the desktop.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion:</h2>

<p>I understand that it can take some time to get used to Windows 11 if you have recently upgraded from Windows 10. All essential features that you are accustomed to have been carried forward to Windows 11. However, some features may be disabled by default, and you need to enable them manually. So, I have shared effective tips to enable the desktop preview when you click on the far right corner of the taskbar. <p>As a <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/narendhiran-vijayakumar/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.linkedin.com/in/narendhiran-vijayakumar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>web app developer</strong> <strong>myself</strong></a>, I always work with <strong>multiple windows and tabs</strong> on my PC. I often need to <strong>switch between tabs</strong> based on my requirements. Recently, I <strong>upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11</strong>, and the experience was totally new for me. I had to complete my work on time, but the <strong>new interfaces and experiences</strong> slowed me down. It would be very useful to know how to switch between multiple tasks efficiently. After some research, I found several ways to <strong>switch tasks</strong> and <strong>enable Task View</strong> on my Windows 11 PC. </p>

<p>I believe this will be useful to everyone, so I’m here to share my knowledge with those who need Task View to stay productive. In this article, I&#8217;m going to share <strong>more than three methods</strong> to <strong>enable Task View</strong> in <strong>Windows 11 PC</strong>.</p>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key Points:</h2>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Keyboard Shortcut</strong>: Press <code>Win + Tab</code> to open Task View directly, even if the Task View button is not visible on the taskbar.</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Multiple Ways to Enable Task View in Your Windows PC!</h2>

<p>Actually, there are <strong>4</strong> <strong>working methods</strong> available. I&#8217;m going to list all the methods, but I personally <strong>recommend</strong> using the <strong>keyboard shortcuts method</strong>, which is easy and <strong>time-saving</strong>, especially if you are a developer.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Method 1: Using the Settings App:</h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Click the <code>Win + I</code> keys on your keyboard, or click the <strong>Start</strong> button and select the <strong>Settings</strong> gear icon.</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion:</h2>

<p>In conclusion, having multiple methods to <strong>enable Task View</strong> on your <strong>Windows 11 PC</strong> can significantly enhance your <strong>productivity</strong>, especially if you frequently switch between tasks like I do as a <strong>web app developer</strong>. While the first three methods are straightforward and user friendly, the fourth method requires a bit more advanced knowledge and should be approached with caution. Understanding these different techniques ensures you can navigate the new <strong>Windows 11 interface</strong> efficiently, helping you stay on top of your work without unnecessary delays. I hope these methods prove to be as useful to you as they have been for me. <strong>Happy multitasking!</strong> For more articles kindly visit <a href="https://winsides.com/" data-type="link" data-id="https://winsides.com/">Winsides.com</a>.</p>
