How to Enable Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 in Windows 11?

Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 in Windows 11: Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 shortly called WIF 3.5 is a set of .NET Framework classes that can be used for implementing claims-based identity in .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 applications. WIF 3.5 has been superseded by WIF Classes that are provided as a part of .NET 4.5. Microsoft advises to use .NET 4.5 for supporting claims-based identity in your applications. It is a powerful framework that facilitates secure authentication and authorization within the Windows environment. Turn on Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 (WIF 3.5) in Windows 11:

  6. Search and locate the Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 from the list of services available.

  7. Click on the checkbox next to it and then click on OK.
  8. Windows 11 will search for the required files.

  10. The system will prompt for a restart. Continue with Restart now. It is recommended that changes made to the system reflect while using the environment. Click Close.
